And They Shall Be Tormented

Revelation 20:10 KJV — And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

I wanted to share a little on this verse and a cool word study I did last year…

God does not torment people for eternity… this is 100% false doctrine. That’s not who He is or what He is about. If you seek Him for the truth with a heart to actually want know it, He will reveal. Throw away your carnal understanding and ask Jesus to teach you.

Jesus is the Saviour of the world.

The Book of Revelation is a deep and beautiful book about how Jesus transforms the heart of stone into the Heart of God. It’s a revelation of Christ in you. About how His righteous judgment is not to punish people, but to change them. It’s about the total destruction of the flesh. The destruction of your own self. The destruction of your own heart of sin. It’s about the battle of flesh and Spirit… it’s about Christ overcoming death, hell, and the grave IN you.

It’s about Christs total victory. In all people.

If you are able to see yourself with eyes of truth and a humble heart, you are more blessed than most. Christ will open up this book IN you, and live it IN you… all the way through, in this life.

There is no condemnation in Christ.

The beast and the false prophet are within every person. It is your own heart of sin that deceives you constantly and prophesies to you falsely… your own heart of sin is the “mark of the beast”. The heart inside of you that exalts itself above God. In all of us.

I said in my heart concerning the matter of the sons of man that God might cleanse them, so as to see that they themselves [are] beasts.  For an event [is to] the sons of man, and an event [is to] the beasts, even one event [is] to them; as the death of this, so [is] the death of that; and one spirit [is] to all, and the advantage of man above the beast is nothing, for the whole [is] vanity.
Ecclesiastes 3:18‭-‬19 YLT98

And that devil that deceives you? Yep… It’s your flesh.

Jeremiah 17:9 KJV — The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

This word “torment”  in the verse… it’s not what you think. Look it up for yourself! The first definition is a touchstone… which is a stone used to test the purity of gold.

  1. to test (metals) by the touchstone, which is a black siliceous stone used to test the purity of gold or silver by the colour of the streak produced on it by rubbing it with either metal

Christ IN you IS that gold tried in the fire.

He prunes, and squeezes, and puts us in uncomfortable situations to mold us and shape us into who HE is. He produces Himself IN us. He builds His City IN us, while destroying Babylon at the same time. Inwardly. Life and death going on simultaneously. Within us. Two kingdoms colliding. One being built and the other destroyed. Christ overcoming.

Its uncomfortable and very painful (tormenting) at times to see ourselves as we truly are. To see our own beast nature. To be in the flesh. But Christ is Victorious. He will overcome it IN us. He will change us. This is the process of purifying gold in the fire. Refining over and over in the fire to remove the dross and impurities.

Hebrews 12:29 KJV — For our God is a consuming fire.

The Spirit of God IS the Lake of Fire within you… where the beast (your flesh) and false prophet (your own heart of sin) IN YOU are thrown into… where your flesh is destroyed and consumed by the Spirit of God… and the mark of the beast (your own carnal nature) is overcome by Christ, inwardly… one of the definitions of that term “for ever and ever” is “for a period time, or an age” and comes from a root word that means “always” I believe this is referring to your life in Christ, here on earth… and destruction of the flesh is always what Christ in you accomplishes. Always.

Brimstone was known for purifying and warding off diseases… and comes from the root word “theos”… meaning “god”. Like, in the Lake of Fire, God purifies the disease of sin. He overcomes it.

I believe this entire battle takes place ON THE CROSS… here and now… this is something I am asking Jesus to teach me more about… but that’s a whole different post… lol

Isaiah 48:10 KJV — Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

  1. Beautiful post.. “the revelation of Christ in you”.. love this. While everyone is looking outwardly for signs in the world, all the signs are fulfilled in Christ and unseen by the world. We are the world that He ends and where He establishes His Kingdom. I was just remembering yesterday how we are a living sacrifice unto Him continually. Another one is how when He has tried us, we shall come forth as gold (thinking this is Christ revealed in us). Love how deep all of this goes!

  2. I read the scripture you’re always referring to this morning… about Jesus came at the end of the world.. truly He comes at the end of the world (in us) to establish His Kingdom on earth (on the hearts of His people)…

For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
    Hebrews 9:26

There is a scripture about we have known Christ after theflesh, but we wont anymore…

Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
    2 Corinthians 5:16

And how the world wont see Him, but His disciples will…

Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

  3. I love all u shared.. all the things are in Christ now.. all the things He has to tell us n show us, He writes in living epistles and reveals it to us by Spirit. All the signs and wonders, His Kingdom, seeing Him, hearing Him… only by the new birth we can see the Kingdom of God (Christ Himself alive n reigning in us).

Btw I had a dream a year and half ago. I didnt understand it until recently, since our convos. In the dream, I was inside a church and then suddenly everyone disappeared. I saw Jesus walk in while eating an apple but the way He was walking was strange, in a narcissitic way. Next to Him was a lifelike roaring bear. I followed them outside and watched them both go inside a lake of water. Then when I woke up, I remembered how Jesus went to the spirits in prison and He gave me one word “grave.” I see how it led up to all this, what grave really means and that I was looking at the false prophet and beast go into the lake of fire in my dream.
