As He Is… So Are We In This World… The Second Coming

A few years ago I understood that Jesus is already here, ruling and reigning in the hearts of His people. That His Kingdom is here now. I understood that the Second Coming happens when we are born again, that the Second Coming is the New Covenant. I understood that I am truly complete in Christ and not waiting for anything else.

I’ve been understanding more and more that the Second Coming of Christ is not just the one time event of being born again… it doesnt stop there… its ongoing, here and now, our whole life in Christ.

The Second Coming is an inward revelation of Christ in you.

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 KJV

When Christ appears in a certain area of our lives, we become like Him in that area. He shares Himself and His heart with us, and it becomes a part of our heart. He increases in that area and we decrease. The mountain of the Lord is exalted in the earth (Christ in you). The train of His robe fills the temple (Christ in you). He puts to death a part of adam within us and raises up Himself (Christ in you). He, Himself, overcomes in us.

When Christ let’s us struggle with something like bitterness, hatred, pride, etc… whatever it is, to show us “Look, this is what is inside of you.” I have struggled with these things brutally at times and was horrified to see the ugliness within my own heart. Only Christ can change the human heart… and He does. Little by little as we seek Him. This is the Second Coming.

I’m always waiting expectantly for Jesus to come, to set me free of something I am struggling with, to teach me something I didnt know before, to show me a different part of His heart and to share Himself with me. Ongoing. The Second Coming.

The Second Coming is all at once (when we are born again) and also little by little. We are filled with all mysteries but they also need to be unpacked over time.

He comes in Judgment within our hearts. Gods Judgment isnt to punish someone, it’s to change them. God judging sin happened on the cross and it happens within our hearts when we are changed to a new creation.

The Kingdom comes without observation. Nobody but you can see Christs second coming within your own heart.

And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:  neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:20‭-‬21 KJV

The world looks for outward signs of the Second Coming but Jesus said none except for the sign of Jonah will be given… 3 days of darkness in the belly of the sea monster. The sign already came and went… Christ was buried and raised. His work completed.

Our Blessed Hope. Christ overcoming sin within in our own hearts as we walk with Him. Changing us from within. The Second Coming. ❤

  2. Love this sooo much… love ur beautiful illustrations too! The one I often think of is how Christ in us is a complete treasure, yet He reveals what we do have in Him little by little. Honestly, Hes a bottomless treasure bc who can fathom (measure) Him? I also think abt the vs of how we groan to be released from this body of death, to be swallowed up in Life.. the dead and ignorant dont groan, but we groan waiting for Christ to be revealed in that place. We have tasted His goodness, His beauty and freedom.. we want Him to reign in all of us! The second coming, love this.. all the fulfillment of the signs r in the new creation ❤

  3. I so enjoyed reading what you shared knowing you are experiencing His presence in truth. I really fed from the bit about the sign of Jonah. I am also knowing now as well as looking for His continual appearing. This our “living hope”-DB

  4. A more literal translation of Revelation 1:8 is, “I am the Alpha and Omega, the one who is, was, and is coming continually.” The last part is usually translated “is to come” putting it in the future but the tense in Greek is present and ongoing. I believe His revelation is growing in us, & one day will envelop all creation. But it’s only future in the sense that it’s going on now & won’t ever stop!
